Benefits of Membership

Membership to the Adult Charter School Knowledge Center provides many benefits, and supports the cause of having effective adult-serving charter schools that benefit the students, benefit the economy, and benefit the country.

Full Knowledge Library Access

The Knowledge Center has put together a library of many resources about adult-serving charter schools, including many original publications, such as legal research reports (currently California-focused), policy papers, and studies.  Archives of professional development will be in the library, including webinars and videos of conference sessions. The Knowledge Library also has a directory of adult-serving charter schools to help adult charters network and learn from each other.

Discounts on Knowledge Center Sponsored Professional Development

The Knowledge Center offers webinars, and plans to start an annual Adult Charter School Conference.  Members can attend these events at a discounted rate.

Support and Consulting

Most memberships come with a number of hours per year of time to get questions answered, and have other types of personalized consulting for your organization.

Opportunities to Participate in Research Studies

The Knowledge Center plans to conduct various forms of primary research, including determining whether specific adult-serving charter schools have a net cost savings to tax-payers, and looking at case studies of effective practices and policies for adult-serving charter schools.  Member organizations have the opportunity to sponsor and participate in this type of research.

Support for Advocacy and Public Education

The Knowledge Center has as part of its mission a goal to help inform legislators, policy makers, and the public at large about adult-serving charter schools.  And work to have laws and regulations that support effective adult-serving charter schools.

Note:  This advocacy is data driven, and the Knowledge Center supports accountability in adult-serving charter schools to ensure tax payers are receiving appropriate benefit.  While the Knowledge Center is open to dialogue with all members and other stakeholders about what they believe are laws and policies that should be supported; the Knowledge Center may or may not support any specific law or regulation, depending upon how well the Center believes that it supports the public good, based upon known data.
